The Long and Short of it.

With so many celebs having short hair one day and long hair the next, it's no wonder that we can't make up our minds about hair length either.  I can't even count the number of  female clients that in the last month have teetered between the idea of short hair or long hair.  It's seriously making me crazy.  Today, I am going to steer you and your hairs to the right length so that you don't drive your stylist to drink. on the job.
Here are some questions to ponder...

Do coworkers, family, or friends compliment you when you cut your hair?

Is your hair fine or thin?

Do you like to wear your hair down all the time and can't stand clips, ponytails, etc?

Do you like your hair off your collar?

Do you use product and a blowdryer/curling iron/flat iron every day?

If you answered yes to 3 or more of those questions, you are definitely a prospect for short hair.

If you only answered yes to one or two, then you are better off with long hair.  Short hair will only frustrate you.  Translation: don't fucking cut your hair off because we(the stylist) don't want to be blamed for you hating your hair.  If you are craving change, try long layers or bangs.  Sometimes even a few face-framing foils of color around your face will spicen up your look for fall.  Adding some darker color underneath is a great way to give the illusion of thicker hair, and is fun too.

Short haired girls, be very conscious of your face shape.  Try to find cuts on models with features similar to yours.  There are so many bangarang haircut pictures online right at your disposal to look through.   Keep in mind that short hair is a commitment to styling and trims... the shorter your hair, the more frequent trips to the salon to keep it the right length.

Finally if your husband/boyfriend/partner complains about your hair length, tell them off!  Tell them I said to tell them off.  You need to do what's most flattering to you and your lifestyle.  Because let's face it, no matter how bad our day is, if it's a good hair day, it makes it a little bit better.
